Maik Thomas is Head of Section 1.3: Earth System Modelling at the Department 1: Geodesy and Remote Sensing of the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. He is Professor of Global Dynamic Geomodelling at Freie Universität Berlin and Vice-President of Commission 3.3 "Geophysical Fluids" of the International Association of Geodesy. The main focus of Maik Thomas’ scientific research lies on the simulation of spatio-temporal variations of mass distributions within and mass exchanges among the Earth´s fluid subsystems as well as on the integration of geodetic monitoring data into numerical model approaches.
